The Gene E. Huckstep Emergency Center/Level III Trauma Center at Saint Francis Medical Center is the region's only state-designated Level III Trauma Center and provides care for approximately 35,000 patients annually.
The self-contained facility features hospital-based, board certified emergency medicine physicians and trauma surgeons who provide critical care 24 hours a day, seven days a week in a state-of-the-art setting that features 15 emergency care rooms. A highly experienced nursing staff with specialty training in advanced cardiac life support, trauma and pediatrics supports Saint Francis' physicians around the clock. Additionally, a trauma case manager coordinates all care for trauma patients.
Saint Francis recently received a prestigious Compass Award from Press Ganey (a nationwide patient satisfaction survey organization) for showing significant improvement in emergency patient satisfaction scores over the past two years.
Adjacent to the Emergency Center/Level III Trauma Center is Convenient Care, the region's first walk-in facility. Convenient Care is open 9 am-9 pm, seven days a week to treat minor illnesses and injuries with no appointment necessary.
